Message from the Principal

At WAS, we believe that every child’s educational journey begins with curiosity, exploration, and a love of discovery. Our dedicated teachers provide students with experiences designed to inspire our preschool through Grade 2 learners. As we begin this new year together, I encourage you to stay connected and involved—whether through attending school events, keeping abreast of classroom initiatives, or engaging in simple moments of conversation about your child’s day. In addition to our web page, there are targeted communications to help build the home-to-school connection. My weekly email to the community is delivered on Friday afternoons. Our wonderful and supportive Parent Teacher Association (PTA) issues its own weekly email newsletter summarizing its initiatives. Our teachers employ their own preferred methods of communication including apps, Google Classrooms, and email to share reminders and highlight classroom learning.

In addition to academic progress, there is also an emphasis on developing the whole child through social and emotional learning. Our SEL curriculum places a firm focus on kindness, inclusion and respect. Together, our objective is to create a supportive school community where every child feels seen, valued, and excited to learn.
